France 2015 Day 15: Arcachon by bus

Last night's dinner:

Spaghetti plus veg pus low alcohol cidre

Took a walk around the campsite later and saw this home-made caravan.

Early morning drumming practice:

The early morning dune

An artistic view of the 191 steps - counted them last year.
An angler practising his casting.
Another angler watches a seal that has come to the beach's edge.
Arcachon:

Went by bus to Arcachon with the intention of having oysters for lunch but it was so hot we couldn't be bothered eating anything.

Ever more meaningful morning ritual.

Some grand buildings in Arcachon.

Fantastic seafront.

The station.
It's hot today:

Even at 16.06 in the shade.

France 2014 Day 14: Cochon du Lait

Last night's dinner:

Cochon du Lait

Without doubt the nicest piece of pork I've had in years (and I consumed another similarly sized section)

Early morning drumming session:

Those clouds soon disappeared.

Planted myself half-way down the steps.

Lunch in Biscarrosse Plage:

Galette Basquaise

Time for 30 minutes ritual.
Several years ago we stayed in a truly splendid apartment in Biscarrosse.

France 2015 Day 13: Laundry Day

Last night's dinner:

Lamb shank with prunes

Early morning drumming practice session:

Obviously, Pyla is on top of a dune.

To get to the beach one has to descend these shaky steps.

And then wade through deep soft sand.

Nobody about at 7 am so really went to town with the sticks for an hour.

Then the climb back up.

Brocante Vide Grenier at La Teste-de-Buch.

Then, mid-morning, visited this this Vide Grenier hoping to find H0 scale related model railway items. No joy but a thoroughly enjoyable wander around for an hour in the baking sun.

Usual mad collection of junk:

Wrong scale, unfortunately.

Tempted by this strange tin-plate aeroplane.
Superb O scale tin-plate train set.
Fantastic tin-pate footbal game.

Really clean urinals.

Coffee and Sartre at the Market:

Then to the market at Teste for my morning ritual:

Got round to taking some notes on Sartre.

Fellow wasters

Purchased tonight's dinner -  Cochon de Lait

Got back to the car and it was 37 degrees.

Then Laundry Time:

I love these places.

Still thoroughly enjoying:
