Model Railway Power Supplies

Is it possible to use one of these ubiquitous 16 volt power units to supply electricity to the street lights on my model railway layout? Certainly it would be a cheap solution.

Will have to do some research.

Currently listening to:

Mitsuko Uchida playing Schubert's Piano Sonata No 17 on  fairly tinny built-in laptop speakers in a hotel room in North Berwick. With a pot of tea for company - perfect.

Last night's dinner on a shoestring:

Seafood risotto
Preceded by smoked salmon

Cost per head: £20

But since it was paid for by my sister and brother-in-law: free!

Dinner costs for past week:

Sunday  £4.75
Monday  £6.00
Tuesday  £1.50
Wednesday  £2.65
Thursday  £5.25
Friday  £1.57
Saturday  £20.00

Average cost per head for past week: £5.96

Previous 9 weeks of averages: £4.93: £5.04; £5.10: £4.89, £11.43; £2.33; £5.48; £4.11; and £3.69

Which gives an average cost per head for the last 10 weeks of: £5.30
