Ginger Beard Men

Nothing to report on layout today so here are some French railway related images downloaded at random from the internet.

In this case, some railway stations  from French Algeria.

Wahran

Algiers

Oran
As far as I remember, Albert Camus' novel, The Plague, was set in Oran.

King Tuts Wah Wah Hut:

After Chinese meal went on to Glasgow's famous (and tiny) King Tuts Wah Wah Hut to see three bands.

The first was not to my taste.

The headliners were an electro-pop duo, The Mouse that ate the Cat. They were OK.

But the revelation were two young chaps going under the name Ginger Beard Men - one had a beard and the other had red hair.

Using a couple of Apple laptops, a very occasionally used bass guitar and a slightly more frequently used traditional drum kit they did a set of about 45 minutes that as far as I was concerned could have lasted an hour and 45 minutes.

The best thing I've seen live for years: original; avant garde; variegated; musical and passionate. The ginger haired chap was a really manic front man.

AND, not too loud - no need for earplugs.

The ginger haired chap from my phone.

The wrist band that is compulsory for admission these days.

PS I was not the oldest there. On display was a huge range of ages, shapes and sizes and clothes styles. And the ticket was only £8.50.

One Pure Thought:

A few days ago I expressed my desire to have 'just one pure thought'.

Came across this quotation that I'd jotted down some years ago from Alexander Solzhenitsyn's novel, The First Circle.

"Nothing has been invented by great minds that does not appear insubstantial to even greater ones."

Substitute 'less pure' for 'insubstantial'.
